Juanito's late goal denies Juventus

Verona, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Juanito scored in stoppage time for Hellas Verona to help his side earn a 2-2 home draw against Serie A champions Juventus on Saturday.

Juve no doubt had an eye toward next weekend's Champions League final against Barcelona having already wrapped up the league and Coppa Italia titles, while Hellas was safe from relegation, leaving little incentive for the two teams.

However, they put on a good display with the visitors grabbing the lead a few minutes before halftime through Roberto Pereyra, who curled a long-range effort into the top corner to put Juve up 1-0 at the break.

The hosts answered a few minutes into the second half through Luca Toni, who netted his league-leading 22nd goal of the campaign after taking a pass from Emil Hallfredsson and slotting his shot past goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon at the near post.

Fernando Llorente restored Juve's lead in the 57th minute when Andrea Pirlo chipped a ball over the top for Simone Padoin, who headed it on for Llorente to finish at close range.

The match could have been wrapped up in the 88th minute when Llorente was brought down inside the penalty area by Hellas defender Rafael Marquez. However, Carlos Tevez saw his spot kick tipped around the post by goalkeeper Rafael, and the miss was punished a few minutes later.

Simone Pepe was sent off for a poor challenge on Mattia Valoti, giving Hellas a late free kick that Juanito converted by heading home a cross from Marquez.

Saturday's other contest saw AC Milan claim a 3-1 win at Atalanta behind a pair of goals from Giacomo Bonaventura.
