The Jets have joined several other NFL teams who have said they were unaware of and don't support a brief filed by the NFL Coaches Association that sided with the players against the owners.

New York coach Rex Ryan says in a statement Thursday that "none of our guys knew anything about it."

"It kind of came out of left field on us," Ryan says. "Nobody knew it was filed and nobody approved it being filed, so that's where it is."

The NFL Coaches Association filed the brief in the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on May 25 saying that the lockout is putting their jobs in jeopardy. Ryan's statement was similar to those issued by Philadelphia, Buffalo, Washington and Jacksonville.
