Hurricanes sign D Roy

Raleigh, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes signed defenseman year, two-way contract on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old will make $600,000 in the NHL and $125,000 in the AHL next season.

Roy played in just four scoreless games with Tampa Bay a season ago, but has totaled two goals and 13 points in 65 appearances with Edmonton, Columbus and the Lightning since 2005-06.
