Hoffenheim, Germany – Hoffenheim acquired German-born striker Joselu from Real Madrid on Wednesday on an undisclosed fee and signed him to a four-year contract.
Joselu, 22, scored 26 goals in 36 matches for the reserve side at Real Madrid last season, but made just one senior appearance from 2009-12. He started his club career with Celta, and returned to the club on loan in 2009-10.
"Joselu has already demonstrated his class at Real Madrid," Hoffenheim manager Markus Babbel told the club's website. "But he's still young as well and has a lot of potential. He fits in perfectly in this team and at Hoffenheim."
Joselu has been capped for Spain at numerous youth levels, but has not played at the senior level.
