Boiling Springs, NC – Kurt Beathard has accepted the Webb.
Bethard, the 49-year-old son of fomer NFL general manager Bobby Beathard, is a well-traveled coach with nearly 24 years of experience. Last year, he was an offensive assistant with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League.
Beathard has been an offensive coordinator at Eastern Kentucky, Bucknell and Western Carolina. He also has coached at his alma mater, Towson, as well as Illinois, Pacific, Colgate, James Madison, Louisville, Bloomsburg and Catholic.
Gardner-Webb finished 4-7 overall, and 2-4 in the Big South Conference, under first-year coach Ron Dickerson Jr. last season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs kick off the 2012 season on Sept. 1 against Wofford.
