New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Fordham has extended the contract of football coach Joe Moorhead by one year through the 2022 season, the Patriot League university announced Thursday.

The Rams recently advanced to the second round of the FCS playoffs for the second consecutive season, won the Patriot League title and had an 11-3 record. The 41-year-old Moorhead has a 29-10 in three seasons at his alma mater.

"Coach Moorhead has done a tremendous job the past three years and we are excited that he will be leading our football program for the years to come," athletic director David Roach said.

"Coach Moorhead is a true man of Fordham who is not only a great football coach but also an excellent representative of Fordham University. You only have to see how our student-athletes respond to his leadership and vision to see what a great job he has done here. We all look forward to next season and future seasons with Joe Moorhead as our head coach."
