Brandon Hosley scored 17 points and Amin Stevens added 16 as Florida A&M defeated Coppin State 60-58 on Monday night.

The Rattlers (9-14, 4-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led by as many as 14 in the second half and by 10, 56-46, with less than 4 minutes remaining.

The Eagles (11-11, 6-4) went on an 11-3 run to cut their deficit to 59-57 with 50 seconds to go, but went 1 for 4 from the free-throw line and 0 for 2 from the field in the final minute as Florida A&M held on for the victory. Coppin State scored 16 points off 15 second-half turnovers.

Akeem Ellis scored 21 points, Jordan Lee added 11 and Michael Harper 10 for the Eagles, who shot 8 for 12 from 3-point range (66.7 percent) in the second half.

The Rattlers outrebounded Coppin State 42-31 and posted a 12-6 advantage in second-chance points.
