FC Dallas midfielder Bobby Warshaw suffered a fracture in his right foot earlier this week and will have surgery Friday, the Major League Soccer club announced Thursday.

The 23-year-old Warshaw fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in a reserve game against Sporting Kansas City on Tuesday. FC Dallas placed Warshaw injured reserve, and no timetable for his return was announced.

Warshaw was selected in the first round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. He made 17 appearances as a rookie, including four starts. He had played six games so far this season, including two starts.
