Fanning-Otis to retire as MSU women's hoops coach

Sharon Fanning-Otis, Mississippi State's time winningest women's basketball coach, announced Monday she will retire at the end of the season

Fanning-Otis has amassed a 608-457 record during her 36 years as a collegiate head coach at UT-Chattanooga, Kentucky and Mississippi State, with 281 victories coming with the Bulldogs.

"I want to thank Mississippi State for the opportunity and experience it gave me to be the women's head basketball coach and for the past 17 years," said Fanning-Otis, who will remain in MSU's athletic department. "I am blessed to have been a part of the growth of women's basketball."
