Josh Daniel scored 23 points and Spencer Perrin had a double-double as Eastern Kentucky snapped a four-game losing streak with a 79-73 win over Georgia Southern on Sunday.

Perrin had 18 points and 10 rebounds for his team's first double-double of the season. Joshua Jones added 11 points and Jeff Johnson had 10 for the Colonels (6-8).

Georgia Southern trailed 38-21 at halftime but opened the second half with an 18-2 run to close the gap to 40-39. The Colonels never relinquished the lead and a layup by Daniel with 9:34 remaining pushed the advantage to 54-43.

Daniel made 10 of 14 field goal attempts to lead a hot shooting effort by the Colonels, who made 24 of 45 field goal attempts (53.3 percent).

Ben Drayton had 18 points, Eric Ferguson and Zuri James each scored 13, and Jelani Hewitt had 11 for the Eagles (4-11), who have lost two straight.
