The Los Angeles Dodgers placed pitcher Ted Lilly on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday and recalled pitcher Matt Magill from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Magill will make the start Sunday in place of Lilly, who was scratched due to a neck sprain. The move to the DL will be retroactive to June 5.

It's Lilly's third trip to the disabled list this season, having missed the first 19 games of the campaign recovering from left shoulder surgery and later missing 17 contests between April 30-May 20 because of a right rib cage strain.

Magill will make his sixth start and is 0-1 with a 6.38 ERA this season for the Dodgers. His last appearance with the team came in a spot start against Colorado on June 2, when he allowed seven runs -- six earned -- while walking nine over six innings in a 7-2 Dodgers loss.
