The Chicago Cubs have placed outfielder Thomas Neal on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated right shoulder.

Additionally, the Cubs placed pitcher Matt Guerrier on the 60-day disabled list with right elbow soreness, recalled pitcher Eduardo Sanchez from Triple-A Iowa and selected the contract of catcher J.C. Boscan from Iowa.

Neal was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Monday and added to the active roster on Tuesday.

Guerrier appeared in 34 games for the Dodgers before being traded to the Cubs on July 2. The right-hander was 2-1 with a 2.13 ERA in 15 relief appearances with Chicago.

Both Guerrier and Neal suffered their respective injuries during Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Sanchez posted no record and a 3.00 ERA after the Cubs selected his contract from Triple-A on July 26. The right-hander was optioned to Iowa on Tuesday.

Boscan hit .253 with nine doubles and 18 RBI in 62 games with Iowa this year. He spent parts of the last three seasons with the Braves (2010-12), appearing in 11 major league contests.
