Cruz Pedregon took the No. 1 spot in Funny Car qualifying Saturday in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

The two-time season champion had a 4.010-second pass at 313.95 mph in his Toyota Camry for his second No. 1 qualifier of the season and 59th of his career.

"It's amazing how much we had to touch on the car to make it down the track today versus yesterday and it worked," Pedregon said. "We have no excuses. If we can go out there, race and not have anything goofy happen, we should be a factor."

Antron Brown qualified first in Top Fuel, Jason Line was the fastest in Pro Stock, and Karen Stoffer topped the Pro Stock Motorcycle field.

Brown's 3.758 at 319.82 from Friday night was enough to carry him to the No. 1 position.

Line raced his Chevy Camaro to a 6.546 at 211.23, and Stoffer had a 6.875 at 195.59 on a Suzuki.
