Will Cole scored 22 points and led a second-half surge by Lincoln (Pa.), which went on to a 68-62 victory over Howard on Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

A 3-pointer by George Jackson began a 10-0 run by the Lions, a Division II team, after the Bison had built a 45-35 lead with 14:01 remaining.

Anton Dickerson's 3-pointer for Howard broke a 45-45 tie, but Lincoln scored the next eight points, six of them by Cole, to lead 53-48 with 7:33 to play. The Lions never trailed again.

Calvin Thompson scored 11 of his 21 points in the first half for Howard, which took a 32-24 lead at intermission after trailing 13-3.

Cole had 13 rebounds for Lincoln and made 10 of 11 free throws. Jackson scored 15 points.

Dickerson had 14 points for Howard, and Mike Phillips had 13 points and nine rebounds.
