City signs midfielder Rodwell from Everton

Manchester, England – Manchester City completed the signing of midfielder Jack Rodwell from Everton on a five-year contract Sunday.

Rodwell, 21, is the first addition in a quiet summer for the reigning English Premier League champions. He moves to City on an undisclosed fee. Rodwell had been at Everton since he was 7, and made his senior debut at 16 in 2007.

"It is an honor to be signing for the champions," Rodwell said. "I relish the opportunity of playing with some of the best players in the world."

A youth international at every level for England, Rodwell has played twice for senior team.
