San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Chargers will be without starting guard Johnnie Troutman if they reach the playoffs, with the team placing the third-year pro on injured reserve Monday.

Troutman, who started each of San Diego's 15 games this season at right guard, hurt his knee during the Chargers' 38-35 overtime win at San Diego on Saturday.

A fifth-round pick of the Chargers in 2012, Troutman missed his entire rookie season after undergoing pectoral surgery and returned to start nine games last season.

Offensive lineman Kenny Wiggins was signed to the active roster to take Troutman's spot.
