Casablanca, Morocco (SportsNetwork.com) - Fifth seed Pablo Carreno Busta was a first-round upset victim Monday at the Grand Prix Hassan II tennis event.

Argentine Carlos Berlocq took out Spain's Carreno Busta 4-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 on the clay courts at Complexe Al Amal.

Seventh-seeded Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan avoided an upset by holding off Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 on Day 1. Ramos-Vinolas was a runner-up here in 2012.

One other result saw German Dustin Brown handle Russian Andrey Kuznetsov 6-2, 6-4. Brown will face second-seeded Martin Klizan in the round of 16.

This week's top seed is reigning champion Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, who topped Marcel Granollers in last year's all-Spanish final.
