Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Capitals forward Eric Fehr will miss the next two games of their first-round playoff series against the New York Islanders after being injured on a check, his coach said.
"I would say he's out for the next two games and we can reevaluate after that," Barry Trotz said after Monday's practice.
Fehr suffered an upper-body injury early in the first period of Sunday's Game 3 when he was checked hard in the corner by New York's Kyle Okposo.
He left the game after playing only 1:19 and didn't return.
The Islanders won in overtime to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
Game 4 is Tuesday on Long Island.
Fehr, 29, had 19 goals and 14 assists in 75 games during the regular season. He went without a point in the first three games against the Islanders.
