HANOVER, N.H. – Tucker Halpern scored 25 points and Brown defeated Dartmouth 75-66 on Friday night.
Brown led by as many as 12 points in the second half but Dartmouth closed to 65-61 with 2:51 to play on a jumper by David Rufful. Brown responded with an 8-1 run, capped by a three-point play by Sean McGonagill that pushed the lead to 73-62 with 25 seconds remaining. McGonagill, who scored 15 points, made all six of his free throw attempts in the final 2 minutes.
The win was the seventh in the past eight games in the series for Brown (9-12, 2-5 Ivy League).
Nick Jackson scored 17 points to lead Dartmouth (5-16, 1-6), which has lost four games in a row and nine of its past 10. Rufful had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Big Green, who came into the game averaging 48 points in their previous three contests.
