Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil is facing a possible felony gun charge after being arrested in Miami, though his agent says it's unlikely the player will be charged.

Miami-Dade County court records showed Sunday that Dumervil was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. But his agent said no charges had been filed and no assault took place.

"It is likely that when the police have completed their investigation, no charges will be filed against Elvis," Marty Magid said, according to the Denver Post.

KCNC in Denver reported that Dumervil was arrested Saturday night and his bond was set at $7,500. Police have yet to disclose any details about the arrest and he was apparently released Saturday night.

The Broncos said in a statement they were aware of the arrest and were gathering facts about the "serious allegation."

Dumervil, 28, had a career-high 17 sacks in 2009. He missed all of 2010 after having surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle and returned to play 14 games this past season, racking up 42 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks. He has 52 1/2 career sacks.
