Rostock, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Juergen Braehmer defeated fellow German Robin Krasniqi by technical knockout to retain his WBA light heavyweight belt on Saturday.

Krasniqi was battered by Braehmer throughout the fight and after sustaining a deep cut above his lip in the ninth round, his corner pulled him from the fight ahead of the 10th, according to media accounts of the fight.

Braehmer (46-2) made the fourth defense of the title he captured by beating American Marcus Oliveira in December 2013. He hasn't lost since 2008, winning 15 straight fights.

Krasniqi (43-4) had won four consecutive fights since losing a unanimous decision to then-WBO world light heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly in London in April 2013.
