Florence, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Bloomsburg running back Franklyn Quiteh was named the 2013 winner of the Harlon Hill Trophy, honoring the nation's top Division II football player.
Quiteh, who finished third in voting for the award last season, led the D-II ranks with 2,195 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground during a tremendous senior campaign. The Pennsylvania native eclipsed the 200-yard mark in six of Bloomsburg's 12 games, including a school-record 304 yards against East Stroudsburg.
His efforts helped the Huskies to a 10-2 record and a PSAC championship along with a first-round bye in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Quiteh is the second Bloomsburg player to earn the Harlon Hill Trophy, also referred to as the Division II Heisman, joining Irv Sigler in 1997.
West Texas A&M quarterback Dustin Vaughn and Henderson State signal-caller Kevin Rodgers were this year's other two finalists.
