The Portland Trail Blazers, granted a hardship exception by the NBA because of numerous injuries, have signed center Chris Johnson to a 10-day contract.

Johnson is averaging 17.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 3.07 blocked shots with the Dakota Wizards of the NBA's Developmental League.

The 6-foot-11Johnson brings the Blazers' roster to 16 players.

Portland has struggled with injuries this season. Veteran center Marcus Camby, the latest casualty, required arthroscopic knee surgery last Thursday and is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks.
