Jesse Berry scored 17 points and Ball State pulled away in the second half to beat Grambling State 78-51 in the Cardinals' opener on Sunday.

Majok Majok had 12 rebounds and 11 points for Ball State. Three other Cardinals scored in double figures, Marcus Posley adding 12 points and Chris Bond and Zach Fields scoring 10 points each.

Grambling (0-2) was led by Terry Rose with a game-high 22 points. He hit six 3-pointers and was 8 for 14 overall, but the rest of the Tigers were 10 of 32 from the field.
