PSV Eindhoven suffered its first league loss of the season on Saturday as it fell in a 2-1 loss to AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion.

Nick Viergever had given Alkmaar the lead in the 21st minute, but it was canceled out by Memphis Depay just 14 minutes later.

The two sides remained level at a goal apiece until the 57th minute when Aron Johansson grabbed the winner with his team-leading fifth goal of the campaign.

PSV remains at the top of the Eredivisie table on 15 points thanks to Zwolle's 0-0 draw with NAC on Saturday while AZ Alkmaar climbs up to fourth place with 13 points.

Ajax moved to within touching distance of PSV by picking up a resounding 6-0 victory over Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday.

The match was scoreless by halftime, but an own goal from Job van der Linden in the 48th minute opened the floodgates as Lesley De Sa, Lerin Duarte and Siem De Jong recorded a goal apiece while Kolbeinn Sigthorsson bagged a brace to complete the rout.

Also on Saturday, Mark Uth netted a hat trick to lead Heracles to a 4-1 defeat of RKC Waalwijk while Roda and Utrecht split the points in a 3-3 draw at the Stadion Galgenwaard.
