CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Freshman Austin Ruder scored 19 points to lead Missouri State to a stunning 73-67 win over Texas A&M Friday night in the semifinals of the Corpus Christi Challenge.
Missouri State (6-0) used a 13-3 run to grab a 46-42 lead with 10:49 left. Ruder sparked the run, completing 2 four-point plays in addition to another 3-pointer. Antwan Space hit a jumper to get Texas A&M (6-1) back on track.
The two teams traded buckets down the stretch.
Emmanuel Addo hit a 3-pointer to push the lead to 63-59, but Kourtney Roberson answered with a three-point play.
Jordan Green missed a 3-pointer that would have tied the game with 1:29 left, and Dorian Williams' layup gave the Bears a 5-point cushion with a minute to play.
Missouri State went 6 of 6 from the line down the stretch, icing the game.
Roberson led the Aggies with 16 points.
