Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Aaron Ramsey will miss his team's next two games, against Liverpool on Saturday and AC Milan in midweek.

Ramsey has been out since suffering an ankle injury in Arsenal's 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Sunderland, and Wenger has confirmed that this week has come too soon for his return.

The Frenchman will also be sweating on the fitness of defender Thomas Vermaelen and leading scorer Robin van Persie, who both returned from international duty with injuries and will face late fitness tests.

Arsenal enters the weekend in fourth place on goal difference and seven points clear of Liverpool.
