Argentine Cuper parts ways with struggling Racing

Racing and coach Hector Cuper parted ways Tuesday, just 13 matches into the Argentine's stint as coach of the Spanish La Liga club.

The 56-year-old Cuper made five appearances for Argentina during his career as a player, and a coaching career dating back to 1993 includes a stop at Italian giant Inter Milan and Valencia.

He led Valencia to two consecutive Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001.

Cuper left Greek side Aris to join Racing this season, but guided the squad to just a single win through 13 league games. The coach and the club parted ways by mutual consent.
