LA Angels of Anaheim starting pitcher Jered Weaver came off the 15-day disabled list to start Wednesday's 6-0 win against the San Francisco Giants.

Weaver, who had been out with a lower-back strain he suffered in the first inning of the Angels' May 28 contest against the New York Yankees, limited the Giants to a pair of hits over six shutout innings. He walked two and fanned three, but was removed after throwing 78 pitches.

The 29-year-old tossed the first no-hitter of his career this season and is 7-1 with a 2.40 earned run average in 12 starts.

The Angels also placed pitcher Jerome Williams on the 15-day DL due to breathing problems. He had what's believed to be an asthma attack on Monday when facing his former team. In that game against the Giants, he allowed seven hits and four runs over 3 1/3 innings of a 5-3 defeat.
