The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim activated outfielder Peter Bourjos from the 15-day disabled list Monday prior to the team's three-game series opener with the Baltimore Orioles.

A strained left hamstring has kept Bourjos from the lineup for over a month, with the 26-year-old last appearing in a game on April 29 against the Oakland A's.

In the 22 games played prior to getting injured, Bourjos was boasting a .313 batting average with two homers and eight RBI.

In a corresponding roster move, the Angels designated infielder Chris Nelson for assignment.

Nelson had nine at-bats with Los Angeles over a seven-game stint. This is the third time Nelson has been designated for assignment in just over a month, having also been released by the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees.
