Alexis Peterson scored 19 points, matching her career high, as No. 22 Syracuse women beat East Carolina 69-58 and advanced to Friday's championship in the Lucaya Division of the Junkanoo Jam.

Peterson scored 12 in the first half when the Orange (4-0), after trailing 6-2 early, went on a 14-0 run. Syracuse led 47-27 at the half, thanks to 44-percent shooting and six 3-pointers — against just one for the Lady Pirates (5-1) in the period.

Brianna Butler and Briana Day scored 13 each. Syracuse scored at least 40 in the first half for the third straight game.

Butler scored 11 of Syracuse's first 30 points. Day had 10 rebounds and Peterson five assists.

East Carolina's I'Tiana Taylor scored a career-high 22 in her first-career start.

Syracuse will play the winner of Wisconsin-South Carolina for the Lucaya Division championship; East Carolina (5-1) meets the loser for third place.
