American defender Gale Agbossoumonde is training with Swedish team Djurgarden on a two-week trial.

The Stockholm club, which plays in Sweden's top division, calls 19-year-old Agbossoumonde "a young and exciting center back." He made his debut for the U.S. national team in November and is on the American under-20 team.

Djurgarden spokesman Jonas Riedel said Monday it's too early to say whether the club will sign Agbossoumonde.

In December, Agbossoumonde was cited as the top young male player of 2010 by the U.S. Soccer Federation. He has previously played with Miami FC and Portuguese clubs Sporting Braga and Estoril.
