LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) U.S. sleds swept gold medals in World Cup bobsled races Friday, with Jamie Greubel Poser and Aja Evans winning the women's competition at Mount Van Hoevenberg after Steven Holcomb and Sam McGuffie prevailed in the two-man race.
Greubel Poser and Evans finished their two runs in 1 minute, 52.02 seconds, setting a track record along the way. Elana Meyers Taylor and Lolo Jones took silver for the U.S. in 1:52.16, while the Canadian team of Kaillie Humphries and Cynthia Appiah were third in 1:53.05.
In the two-man, Holcomb teamed with Sam McGuffie to finish in 1 minute, 49.47 seconds. Canada took silver and bronze, with the team of World Cup points leader Justin Kripps and Jesse Lumsden finishing in 1:49.74, 0.01 ahead of Chris Spring and Lascelles Brown.
