Los Angeles, CA – Two men charged in the March 31 beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow pleaded not guilty Wednesday in a Los Angeles court.
But Marvin Norwood and Louie Sanchez have reportedly made incriminating statements in the case, according to the Los Angeles Times, which quoted Deputy District Attorney Frank Santoro as saying the statements would be used against the men in the prosecution of the case.
Norwood and Sanchez have been charged with three felonies, including mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon, in the brutal attack outside Dodger Stadium that left Stow, 42, critically injured.
The paramedic and father of two sustained injuries to his skull and brain and was put in a medically-induced coma. He was eventually flown from Burbank to San Francisco on May 16.
The latest report from Stow's family, dated August 8, said he has been more alert and responsive as the days go by.
The investigation into the beating took a turn when a child witness provided authorities with more details about the attack, eventually a previous suspect, Giovanni Ramirez, of any wrong doing.
