Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla has put his La Canada Flintridge, CA, home on the market for $3,495,000.

The father of twins made the move from his Lake Hollywood home to this Los Angeles suburb in 2013 for the schools, according to listing agent Kathy Seuylemezian.

So, what drew the funnyman to this Spanish-style house built in 1921? Well, the authentic 1920s latches in the basement. "That appealed to him," Seuylemezian says. "He's a home buff and understands construction."

The inventor of the mangria also served up some home improvements. Take the fireplace in the living room. "He handpicked the Batchelder tiles, and he himself laid them," the agent says.

He also made some 21st-century upgrades, including a TV that descends from the ceiling in the master bedroom and speakers around the house, according to the agent.

Outside the gated estate, the former "Loveline" host installed drought-friendly artificial grass. There's also a saltwater pool and spa and a veranda overlooking the front lawn.

And if you're a car collector like Carolla, you'll appreciate the three-car garage.

Carolla isn't leaving the area. The former carpenter has purchased another property in the area where he plans to build a home from the ground up, according to the agent.
