Deryck Whibley, frontman of early 2000s pop-punk band Sum 41 (yes, they're still around), is selling his Spanish contemporary home in Sherman Oaks, CA, for $2.8 million.

The 38-year-old singer-guitarist isn't the only celeb to have graced these 5,312 square feet: Fellow bubblegum punk pop star Avril Lavigne lived here with Whibley when the two were married. When they divorced in 2009, Lavigne let Whibley keep the house.

While its previous pop star owners made their livelihood with trendy tunes for the Hot Topic set, the house itself is decidedly normal-looking.

Whether or not that's due to getting the house ready for sale, the only room resembling a hint of rebellion is the dining nook with its black baseboards and wallpaper. Built in 2008, the house features five bedrooms (all with en suite bathrooms), an open kitchen, hardwood floors, a grand staircase, and a balcony off the master bedroom.

If you'd like to hear more from Whibley, you can contribute toward Sum 41's crowdfunded effort to release a new album. A pledge of $250 nets you a private chat with Whibley himself. Ask him about the neighborhood for us.
