Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is putting his "stamp" on Detroit by purchasing a red brick apartment building constructed in the early 1900s, according to Curbed.
The news broke in an Instagram post by Jim Tumey, an agent with the Loft Warehouse team. The picture showed Hawk and his family in front of the three-unit building.
Reports say that Hawk isn't planning to move into the house full time. However, his fourth wife, Cathy Goodman, grew up in metro Detroit, and the couple want to "put their money and their stamp on the city," according to Tumey.
The Hawks plan to use one of the three 1,200-square-foot apartments when they stay in the Motor City.
Hawk is a skateboarding god with multiple video games, X Games medals, and endorsement deals to his name. He also owns the Birdhouse skateboard company. He landed the first documented 900 (two-and-a-half rotations in midair) and pioneered modern vertical skateboarding with his radical ramp skills. He has six children from three prior marriages.
