Updated

A few weeks back, we chopped up a few of the grandest log cabins currently for sale across the country. Those luxury cabins (or log homes) gave us a snapshot of the most awesome of American houses -- really, what's more 'Murica than the style of the first settlers? However, the cabins we featured were a bit out of reach for traditional home buyers.

So we got to thinking, how about a few budget-friendly options for the American log lover? We scouted out eight more cabins -- this time under $200,000 -- for the cost-conscious cabin hunter.

5395 Rte 100, Londonderry, VT

Price: $189,000

This cabin's clout: Nothing says Vermont like a roaring fire in a log cabin on a patch of snowy woods. This 1,036-square-foot cabin sits on 3.22 acres and is "just minutes" from popular ski spots Bromley Mountain and Stratton Mountain Resorts.

W5877 Wadell Rd, Tomahawk, WI

Price: $189,000

This cabin's clout: If you'd rather head to the Midwest, you could get 40 acres, a cabin, a pole barn, and a two-car garage for the same price as the Vermont cabin above. This cozy 960-square-foot log cabin is clearly a hunter's place to roost -- a deer stand is also on the property.

43026 N 12th St, New River, AZ

Price: $162,000

This cabin's clout: Is the desert your preferred destination? There are affordable log cabins there, too. Just north of Phoenix, this gated two-bedroom, 1,440-square-foot home has a spacious kitchen, a loft area, and a cathedral ceiling.

213 Buena Vista St, Debary, FL

Price: $159,000

This cabin's clout: Perhaps the tropical weather of Florida is more manageable. If so, check out this budget cabin in Florida -- it measures 1,561 square feet, has three bedrooms, and comes with a nice chunk of porch space in the front and back.

2220 Parrish Ridge Ln, Goreville, IL

Price: $175,000

This cabin's clout: Built as a model home in 2011, this Illinois log cabin is now open for buyers. The 1,351-square-foot cabin has only "been used occasionally by the current owner" and has a "brand new look and feel."

-- -- --

53 The Forest Rd, Blue Ridge, GA

Price: $179,900

This cabin's clout: Buy this log cabin, and you could say you live in The Forest. Seriously -- check out the road name. Located in northern Georgia, this woodsy retreat has two levels and is near trails, rivers, and lakes.

34820 Kaltag Loop, Soldotna, AK

Price: $199,000

This cabin's clout: For a shade under $200,000, you could own this very small, but very pretty, log cabin (along with three land parcels). At only 320 square feet, this pint-size cabin certainly fits the parameters of a tiny house. It also appears to be extremely rustic -- there's even an outhouse.

289 Palmer Hill Rd, Waitsfield, VT

Price: $175,000

This cabin's clout: Vermont is home to some of the most rustic-looking cabins in the whole country, which isn't a big surprise when you learn Vermont has the oldest log cabin in the U.S. While this 820-square-foot, two-bedroom cabin just turned 40, it holds the same kind of rustic charm associated with the cabins typically found in the Green Mountain State.
