Rock Icon Kim Gordon Buys Charming Home in Los Angeles

Kim Gordon, founder, guitarist, and vocalist of defunct rock band Sonic Youth, recently nabbed a new spot in Los Angeles to settle down. the 62-year-old singer-songwriter bought a four-bedroom in the city's Franklin Hills neighborhood for $1.55 million, according to Variety.

The 2,278-square-foot home is idyllic and traditional, complete with a white picket fence and rose bushes. Built in 1936, the charming house features ample outdoor deck space, a master suite with a claw-foot tub and walk-in closet. Perched on a slope, the Southern California home opens up to two levels in the back with a balcony on the upper main level.

Gordon's pioneering noise/art/punk band broke up in 2011, after Gordon's breakup with Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore, her now ex-husband.

However, Gordon continues to rock on despite the dissolution of the band that dominated three decades of her life. She co-founded an experimental electric guitar duo called Body/Head, and recently penned a memoir titled, " Girl in a Band."
