MLB Catcher Gerald Laird Selling $1.85M Scottsdale Home

Two months after being released by the Arizona Diamondbacks, MLB catcher Gerald Laird has put his Spanish-style home in Scottsdale, AZ, on the market to the tune of $1.85 million.

Over his 12-year career, the journeyman catcher appeared in two World Series -- one win (in 2011, with the St. Louis Cardinals) and one loss (in 2012, with the Detroit Tigers). He squatted behind the plate for five teams and played in exactly 799 games, appearing in a single contest this season for the Diamondbacks.

His stunning home is certainly private enough for a professional athlete. Located in a small, gated community, the 1-acre property is surrounded by trees, hedges, and drought-tolerant landscaping.

"It's a great family home and a great entertaining home," says listing agent Kelly Karbon. All four bedrooms have their own en suite bathrooms, and outdoors there are numerous seating areas with fireplaces to keep you warm on chilly evenings.
