Retired Cincinnati Reds legend Johnny Bench is selling his nearly 7,300-square-foot, waterfront mansion in Jupiter, FL, just two years after purchasing it from former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Matt Morris.

Bench, 68, bought the five-bedroom, 6.5-bath mansion in November 2014 for $3.3 million. He recently listed the property for $4 million.

Built in 2003, the Mediterranean-style home sits on a half-acre lot in Sawfish Bay Colony, a gated community with just six other homes. Bench's property features an ivy-covered carriage entrance, leading down a brick driveway to the home's entrance.

The grand foyer features an inlaid marble floor and sweeping staircase. The home has coffered ceilings, custom woodwork, chef's kitchen with breakfast bar and walk-in pantry, formal dining room, office, and stone columns and archways. It also includes a guesthouse and separate gym and recreation room.

The patio and pool open up to 100 feet of waterfront with a private deep-water dock for an 80-foot yacht. Jupiter Island Park is across the water, as is the Wyndham Grand Jupiter hotel. The Atlantic Ocean is minutes away, through the nearby Jupiter Inlet.

Bench played in the MLB from 1967 to 1983, spending his entire 17-season career with the Reds. He helped the team win World Series titles in 1975 and 1976. Bench retired at the age of 35, with 389 total home runs, 2,048 hits, and a .267 career batting average.

Bench was notably the first catcher ever to win the National League's Rookie of the Year award. He went on to make the All-Star team 14 times, and in 1989 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on his first year of eligibility. The team retired his No. 5 jersey and erected a statue of Bench outside the entrance to the Reds' Hall of Fame.

Jupiter is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County and is home to roughly 60,000 residents. There are several dozen mansions currently priced above the $4 million Bench is asking for his home. The most expensive listing is an eight-bedroom mansion with an asking price of $19.9 million.
