Former world's number one ranked golfer Fred Couples has relisted his Spanish-inspired, four-bedroom La Quinta, CA, estate for $3.95 million, a quarter-million-dollar price cut from its last turn on the market in late 2011.

Couples, known as "Boom Boom" for his driving ability, has won 15 PGA Tour events over the course of his distinguished career, including the 1992 Masters Golf Tournament. He received the PGA Player of the Year award in 1991 and 1992 and was named to the U.S. Ryder Cup team five times. Currently plying his trade on The Champions Tour, Couples was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.

Couples' California manor is certainly worthy of a golf deity. Located off the links of the prestigious Madison Club, the 5,173-square-foot home offers stateliness in spades. Take the enormous kitchen island designed with intricate carvings and topped with a Medieval-style iron chandelier, or the dining room's dark floors and castle-like arched windows.

Curl up by the stone fireplace in the master bedroom, or step 15 feet outside to the adjoining patio, where you and a friend can enjoy the warmth of the fire pit, located underneath a towering palm.

Filled with heavy woods and bold stonework, Couples' home is no delicate daisy -- it's a masculine castle worthy of big hitters.
