With a new job as defensive coordinator for the Maryland Terrapins, former Syracuse football coach Scott Shafer has a last tie to New York: his house in Manlius. Now, the 49-year-old coach is looking to cut ties with his digs of seven years for $599,988.

Syracuse hired Shafer in 2009 as defensive coordinator and promoted him to head coach in 2013. Last year Syracuse announced the final game of the 2015 season would be Shafer's last after a disappointing tenure -- he left the Orange with a 14-23 record after three seasons.

The home has an open floor plan and "over $150,000" in remodels and upgrades, according to the listing. It's a spacious 4,862 square feet with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Of note is the large master bedroom with a gas fireplace and en suite bathroom with steam shower and heated floor.

Out back on the 1.32-acre lot, you'll find an 800-square-foot saltwater pool, gas fireplace, lighted gazebo, and putting green. Gloria Barbano Weyl is the listing agent.
