Just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Gayle Delaney -- who has appeared on "Oprah" and written extensively about tapping one's dreams to solve life's problems (including the best-seller " Living Your Dreams") -- carved out her literary career. And now she's turning a page.

Delaney, who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, purchased her dreamy four-bedroom home in Mill Valley, CA, in 1987. She listed it this week for $3.2 million. The author's moving on to something smaller, says listing agent Behzad Zandinejad of Decker Bullock Sotheby's International Realty.

The 3,400-square-foot property's hilltop location is the true highlight. There are stunning views from every room.

"You see the clouds, the bay, and San Francisco … sunset, sunrise, and how the clouds form. You're really at the center of it," says Zandinejad. "You can watch the fireworks from the deck and the full moon, too. This week the owners sent an invitation for people to watch the blood moon."

A hot tub on the deck and a swimming pool just below integrate seamlessly with the landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a vaulted ceiling in the living room add to an open and airy feel. Even the master bath's soaking tub offers splendid views.

Fans of the town-and-country lifestyle will adore the fact that it's only a five-minute walk to the Mount Tamalpais trails (and a quick drive to Muir Woods National Monument) but also conveniently close to shops and restaurants in downtown Mill Valley.

The tony community counts Jerry Garcia, Jack Kerouac, and Jack London as past residents, and attracts many writers, including Anne Lamott, John Gray, and Maxine Chernoff even today.
