Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill and his wife, Lauren, just purchased a home in Fort Lauderdale, FL, according to Gossip Extra -- and it isn't your typical footballer mansion.

The couple had been living in a more modest townhome since Tannehill was picked by the Fins in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. And despite what some gridiron pundits might call a less-than-stellar start to his career, the Dolphins extended Tannehill's contract through 2020.

Now the couple's ready to lay down roots in none other than a Frank Lloyd Wright -- inspired Mid-Century Modern.

Purchased for $4.3 million, the four-bedroom home was designed by an architect who studied under Wright, and it shows. The open floor plan feels spacious, thanks to the wall-to-wall windows in the kitchen and living spaces overlooking the pool and garden.

Built in 1982, the home gives off a distinct late '60s vibe. There is a recessed ceiling in the den, built-ins everywhere, and an impressive "Mad Men"-style wet bar.

But the home isn't entirely a blast from the past. The upgraded kitchen has stainless-steel appliances, a wine-chilling fridge, and plenty of sleek modern cabinetry.
