David and Victoria Beckham, Real Estate Moguls?

The sleepy town of Gloucestershire, England, recently received a seismic jolt when in strolled David and Victoria Beckham, who may be buying a home in the area.

Of course, "home" is putting it modestly. They're the Beckhams! In fact, it's an $8 million mansion some are already dubbing "Beckingham Palace."

Quaintly called Amberley House, the manor -- built in 1640 -- has six bedrooms, six reception rooms, and horse stables (complete with a horse walker) on 22 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside. In other words, there's plenty of room for their four kids to learn to bend it like Beckham.

While the purchase hasn't been confirmed yet, locals are buzzing over sightings of the couple (not to mention a few selfies the glam pair posted online). As one villager told the Western Daily Press, "Everyone's talking about it; it's quite a place and they have been seen around this area."

And it turns out this is just one of many posh properties in this star couple's ever expanding portfolio. So what else do they own?

Well, in 2012, the couple bought a 9,000-square-foot home in London for a whopping $49 million. The eight-bedroom, four-story home has a gym, a spa, and game rooms. It's currently under renovation.

In 2007, the Beckhams plunked down $20 million for a home in Beverly Hills, CA, to rub elbows with other Hollywood A-listers. The H-shaped home with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms sprawls over 13,000 square feet.

In 2003, rumors circulated that the couple had bought a 15-bedroom estate in Bargemon, France, worth about $2 million but then supposedly sold it because it was too far from the fun in Nice and St. Tropez.

Of course, all of these properties are palatial compared to where these stars grew up. David, for instance, was raised in a three-bedroom Victorian at 155 Norman Road in Leytonstone, East London. In spite of the fact that David's magic feet had traversed those floors, bids to buy it at a 2009 home auction never edged over $332,000, so the owner refused to sell.

Victoria's childhood home in Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire, sounds a tad more posh. According to People magazine, her dad's electrical warehouse business afforded them a "comfortable" upbringing complete with a Rolls-Royce in their driveway.

Still, though, the Beckhams have clearly come a long way -- and as their fame continues to grow, we'd bet good money their property holdings will, too.
