"Empire" actress Taraji P. Henson, who has been trying to sell her Hollywood Hills home, is now opening up the field to renters for $12,000 a month -- more if the renter needs the place fully furnished.

The Beachwood Canyon -- area property, with a distinctive Moorish castle feel, offers 4,200 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, dressing room, salon, and (this is the best!) storage for 100 pair of shoes. We expect a well-heeled tenant will enjoy the closet. You'll also find a media room, center-island kitchen, outdoor lounge with fire pit and hot tub, and a garage with a mirrored wall and ballet barre.

Purchased by the actress in 2010 for $1.7 million, the home offers cool views of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The actress originally listed the property in December for $3.25 million. According to the rental listing, a buyer could now score the place for just under $3 million.

Henson, who plays the fierce Cookie Lyon on Fox's "Empire," received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Queenie in 2009's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." She's also penned a memoir titled " Around the Way Girl," which is set to drop in October.
