Johnny Galecki, the actor who appears in the television sitcom " The Big Bang Theory," is listing his home in Los Angeles's Hollywood Hills for $1.995 million, according to people familiar with the listing.

The two-bedroom home, which was previously owned by actor Patrick Dempsey, is located above the Sunset Strip. Measuring about 1,700 square feet, it has views of the city skyline. Outside there is a pool with a hot tub and waterfall, and a sunken seating area surrounding a fire pit. The gated estate has a long driveway for privacy. Mr. Dempsey sold the home to Mr. Galecki in 2001 for $982,509, according to public records.

Mr. Galecki didn't respond to requests for comment. In July he paid $9.2 million for another Los Angeles home with a celebrity pedigree: action star Jason Statham's six-bedroom home Mediterranean-style villa.

Mr. Galecki, who plays nerdy physicist Leonard Hofstadter on the "The Big Bang Theory," is also known for appearing on the 1990s series "Roseanne."

The home is being listed by Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland.
