LOCATION: Atlanta
PRICE: $25 million

This French Provincial-style mansion sits on 17 acres on the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta’s affluent Buckhead neighborhood. Surrounded by evergreens, ferns and hydrangeas, the driveway leads to a circular motor court with a fountain.

“Privacy is one of the things that’s most appealing,” said listing agent Josh Reeves of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, who is co-listing the estate with agent Chase Mizell. The home, which is barely visible from the street, includes two separate entrances, a guardhouse and a command center. “The property is completely gated, secured and monitored by security,” Reeves said.

The estate hit the market about three months ago, according to Reeves. He could not disclose the identity of the owner. There have been reports that it belongs to media mogul Tyler Perry. A representative for Perry did not respond to a request for comment.

The front doors open to a marble foyer with two serpentine staircases. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the great room offer views of the grounds. In addition to seven bedrooms, there is a music room, a home theater and a library with a spiral staircase. It leads to the wine cellar, which has room for more than 2,000 bottles.

Outside, covered terraces and patios surround the infinity-edge swimming pool. The estate also boasts a 9,500-square-foot ballroom, which is located below the tennis courts and is separate from the main house. It features a commercial kitchen, catering facilities, a bar and a large balcony.
