Whether you know him as Deputy Chief William Dodds on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" or Sandy Cohen on "The O.C.," you soon won't be knowing Peter Gallagher as a Brentwood, CA, resident. In an effort to sell the lush home the actor and his wife, Paula Harwood, listed in February for $6 million, the price has been cut twice. It's now going for $5.25 million.

Gallagher and Harwood bought the 5,225-square-foot home in 2007 for $3 million. Although parts of Bundy Drive, where the home is located, are quite busy, this area, located north of Sunset Boulevard, is private and sedate. The abundant, mature landscaping and towering trees add to the privacy, as do the walls and security gate.

Built in 1948, the L-shaped house is situated on about a half-acre. It's divided into two wings, one above the other. The second floor can be used as a guest wing or studio or office space. It features its own kitchen, family room with a high ceiling and skylights, a balcony, two bedrooms, and a bathroom.

However, we're guessing the main level is where the family spent most of its time. Hardwood floors run throughout the open floor plan. The master suite has its own den, his-and-her walk-in closets, and two sets of french doors that open to the saltwater pool and the property's multiple gardens and terraces. In all, there are six bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a cute little playhouse tucked against one of the exterior walls.

The listing calls this a "truly special home ready for move in or with possibilities for an easy upgrade to take this home to a whole new level."

There's a good chance that Gallagher, one of the busiest men on the small screen, wouldn't have time to attend to upgrade details. In addition to "Law & Order: SVU" and "The O.C.," he's also found time to star in "Covert Affairs" and "Togetherness", as well as have guest arcs on several series, including "New Girl," "The Good Wife," "Rescue Me," and "Californication."
